Today we interview our Master in Industry 4.0 student , Maribel Ugarte, to talk to us about her professional career and her experience studying online at SEAS . Maribel, thank you very much for taking this time to talk with us. Industrial Engineer from the Public University of Navarra, tell us, what makes you want to dedicate yourself to the industrial sector? Since I was little I was curious to know what happened inside the devices, why they worked the way they did. When I chose the Industrial Engineering career (which then lasted 5 years, without division between Bachelor's and Master's) I did so because it was one of the ones that covered the most technical areas. I did not have a clear vocation and I found it interesting to be able to delve deeper into mechanical, electrical and electronic topics, industrial organization, etc.
and that would help me decide what motivated me the most. In the end it was the branch of mechanics, although once you enter the industrial environment you realize that Saudi Arabia Phone Number List everything is interrelated (and that knowledge does not take up space) After working for several years in the automotive sector, in 2007 you began your employment relationship with ZABALA, the company where you are currently developing professionally. What does your work consist of? Many companies know ZABALA Innovation Consulting as a consultancy to obtain and manage public aid for R&D&I projects and other related topics such as aid for investment, hiring of technical personnel, improving competitiveness or aspects related to internationalization. linked to these innovative developments. But the truth is that we provide an innovation management service, helping with the innovation strategy, building collaborative ecosystems, etc. with direct and continuous contact with our clients.
What led you to start the Master in Industry 4.0 ? As I said, the different disciplines of the industry relate to each other. And although my profile meant that the clients assigned to me had an initially mechanical and electronic component, increasingly the R&D&I projects I received had a greater digitalization component. The 4.0 disciplines (Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Artificial Vision and Augmented Reality, Additive Manufacturing, etc.) were increasingly present in the projects that came to my table, whether they were innovation product or innovation in the production process. I needed training with content prepared by professionals that would help me assimilate a large volume of knowledge in a relatively short time. And so I decided to look for this Master in Industry 4.0. What has this study contributed to your professional career? In addition to a better understanding of the issues related to Industry 4.0, which has allowed me to provide better service to my clients, it has allowed me to promote within the company. About 5 years ago, a new service area was started in ZABALA dedicated to advising industrial companies in relation to the Digital Transformation towards the Industry 4.0 model. This area has been reinforced in 2020 with several senior consultants and I have been one of those selected.
